Changing our relationship with nature....preserving the planet
Changing our relationship with nature....preserving the planet
We are an education-based volunteer organisation focused on helping individuals and communities rethink their relationship with the ocean through citizen science, research and education.
We empower individuals and communities to gather and use data to inform policy decisions for the future of the seas.
As Ambassadeurs, our goal is to protect the our ocean and the natural resources that sustain us. This, as human activities continue to put enormous pressure on nature with increasing population and an increasingly consumerist lifestyle.
We place particular emphasis on our ocean, because human actions on land affects this huge body of water which covers more than 70% of earth's surface. The ocean is often taken for granted despite it being home to approximately one million species of animals and produces up to 80% of Earth's oxygen. Our current practices present increasing threats to this sustaining lifeforce in the form of marine litter and unsustainable fishing practices.
The Ambassadeur programme utilises an active action-based approach to problem-solving, which includes research, citizen science, education and policy.
We are citizens finding solutions and creating change!
