The Youth Ambassadeurs Programme

"The youth are the catalyst for real change" Queen Rania of Jordan

The Youth Ambassadeurs Programme is designed for children in high school.  The  programme provides an opportunity for students to change the future of their society by how they view and treat the natural environment.

Schools/organisations do not need to start a new 'club' if they already have one that can be chartered. For example, if the school already has a service club, an environment club or a science club, our activities can be incorporated into the club's programme.

As a Chapter, students are challenged to take care of their environment, beginning with their schools. The programme is built around our 7 Rs which teach them to RETHINK their relationship with the environment and with the products that we use, REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPURPOSE, RECYLE and REFLECT as they help to protect the earth. They are challenged to think critically, and to use data to inform solutions.

The programme uses citizens science to establish baseline and timeline data as they examine practical solutions to the questions:

  • How do we use less ?
  • What are the available alternatives?
  • What is the business case for alternatives on campus?
  • What policies can the school community introduce to reduce the amount of waste it generates on its campus? and most importantly,
  • How can we do this at home?

How to start the programme at a school

Earth Ambassadeurs is a volunteer led environmental body committed to using education & science to raise awareness, promote behavioural change & find solutions to protect our oceans.
